Costs

Participants must pay all costs involved with the installation and maintenance of the IID directly to the vendor. Costs are determined by each individual vender.

General Information

The DMV will contact eligible participants before their one-year restoration date. Participants must fill out an application for the program.  Once an application is approved, the participant must have an IID installed by a DMV approved vendor in all vehicles owned or operated by the participant.

Once the device is installed in the vehicle(s) and verified by the DMV, the program participant will have their driver’s license restored and DMV records will indicate that an IID must be installed in all vehicles owned or operated by the participant.   Law enforcement officials will have access to this information when checking a driver's status

Participants must bring each vehicle(s) to the installer every 60 days for calibration.  Failure to do so will result in the suspension of the driver’s license for failure to comply with the terms of the Ignition Interlock Device (IID) program.

Anyone convicted of tampering, removing, allowing someone else to blow into the device or driving a vehicle without an ignition interlock device, will have their driver’s license suspended.

Failure to comply with the requirements of the ignition interlock device program will result in suspension of the motor vehicle operator’s license.

If you have a change in personal information, vehicle information or interlock device information you must complete the Ignition Interlock Device Change of Record (Form RS-3)
